Breaking news – on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week as well as the shop being open as usual, I will be in Bay 20 in the Shambles with a SALE! I almost never do this but I have new stock coming and some lovely items that are surplus, plus some with tiny flaws which I won’t sell in the shop but which are a real bargain! I would also like to have my dining room back, currently full of boxes! – so whether you are looking for an embroidered shawl, a cosy blanket, a throw, a silk scarf – or even a kaftan, pop by and grab a bargain.
I am back – after a truly amazing trip!
Well those three weeks went by in a flash, but it was a wonderful trip. Catching up with my suppliers, sourcing new and gorgeous things and bringing some home in my suitcase (just the small things!) – I am still processing it all and being grateful to have been able to see such amazing things and meet so many delightful people, to all of them I am so grateful.
Special mention to our driver and very good friend Joshy who always, always keeps us safe, takes us on adventures and is the best companion, and to his wife Seena who makes my rather fabulous newspaper bags so precisely and with such patience.
I have organic cotton dresses, dressing gowns, hand block printed napkins and runners, reversible jackets, cotton pyjamas and gorgeous kaftans too so come and say hello.

I hope everyone had the Christmas they wanted with the people they wanted to share it with – and a new year beckons. For me that includes a trip to India from the end of Feb. so I thought a few dates might be a good idea!
I will be open in January as usual Tuesdays to Saturdays inclusive and the same in Feb.
I will be closed for a week from Monday 4th March to Monday 11th March and then open as usual and I will be back from India with treasures galore on Thursday 21 March. While I am away the shop will be open with my lovely ladies filling in for me.
I will post pics on Instagram while I am travelling @parrotsandpeonies and am so looking forward to reacquainting myself with the joys and colours of India.
In the meantime I hope you have a wonderful new year, with peace and happiness and all that you want for yourself and your loved ones.
Tis the season……..
Well it finally crept up on us – mistletoe and wine and all that winter loveliness. Personally I love it and will be mulling like a mad thing!
It was a pleasure to be at the Great Barn in Avebury last weekend – despite the fact that with no heat in the barn it didn’t get above minus 2 on Saturday – we shawl traders are made of stern stuff!
